Ways to do more and make a difference in your community: You won't believe what you can do!

The Beacon Heath Listening Event - we hear it's gonna be great..

Hazel Stutely OBE will be leading the dayConnecting Communities' Andrew Sanders and Beacon Heath residents Paula and Laura were the guests on this week's CVS Radio Show, talking about the C2 Listening Event on Saturday 26th May, 10.30am, at St James' High School.

C2 stands for Connecting Communities, and it is the C2 philosophy that the residents are the experts of their community, and should be instrumental in the development of any decisions or processes that will affect it.

The listening event has been put together by agencies and local residents to find out what it is like to live and work in Beacon Heath.

Questions will be asked, "What's good?" "What's not so good?" and "What would you like to see changed or developed?"

Residents will be given the opportunity to raise any issues they may have and get together with other locals to see if their experiences are echoed.

All the concerns raised on the day will be graded by priority and the results will be taken back to the community in the form of a feedback event; those with highest priority will be highlighted to the relevant agencies and work will begin to address the issues.

Although this all sounds heavy, the morning itself should be fun and interactive, with refreshments, activities for the younger residents and a raffle for those remembering to bring along their postcard.

If you are a resident of Beacon Heath please come along and have your say!
