A new registered Leg Club is being set up in
Barnstaple. Volunteers are sought for a number of roles. The Leg Club, the first of its kind in North Devon, will be a social club to help people with leg health problems in a non-medical community setting.
The group is looking for people to help make cuppas, with activities and chat to put people at their ease. Committee members, to help run the group, fundraisers and drivers to help transport people will also be welcomed.
The Club will meet every Thursday morning in Barnstaple, with NHS health professionals in attendance. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed to volunteers.
Sarah Taylor, Community Nurse Team Leader for Barnstaple Cluster said "The Barnstaple Community Nurses are very excited to be involved in this innovative approach to leg care." She continued: "We anticipate the Leg Club will make a real difference to patients' health and socially."
