Torridge Volunteer Centre

Who we are

Torridge Volunteer Centre's main office is based in Bideford with a bright accessible shopfront, and we also have offices in Holsworthy and Torrington. We work to promote and develop volunteering opportunities throughout the District. We are part of Volunteer Centres Devon (VCD) participating in regional and national debate and feedback. We are members of Volunteering England.

For volunteers we provide:

We hold information on a comprehensive range of opportunities and offer interviews, guidance, support and advice to match potential volunteers’ skills, interests and availability to the right opportunity. We offer a drop in service but appointments can be made outside of our opening hours.
We also hold a large number of leaflets about local organisations, projects and groups.

For organisations we provide:

• Help to promote and advertise your volunteering opportunities.
• Initial interviews towards recruiting new volunteers for your organisation.
• Help organisations develop good practice.
• Campaign for volunteers' rights and provide a voice for volunteer-deploying organisations.
• Encourage and support local voluntary initiatives.
• Work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies.
• A library of resources.
