Who we are

Exeter Volunteer Centre is a vibrant office which aims to let people know that volunteering is a worthwhile activity which helps and supports both the volunteer and the Voluntary and Community Sector. We work at a regional and national level and disseminate that information back at a local level through the Volunteer Organiser's Forum. The Centre feeds into current debates to ensure that volunteering is kept high on the Government’s agenda.

For volunteers we provide:

  • A free one to one confidential interview
  • Information and advice
  • Referral
  • Support
  • Follow up

For organisations we provide:

  • The promotion of volunteering as an enjoyable activity which benefits both the volunteer and the community
  • Advertisement of opportunities on behalf of local groups
  • Actively recruitment people on behalf of local groups
  • Development of good practice in all aspects of working with volunteers
  • Organisation a regular Volunteer Co-ordinators' Forum
  • Partnership working with voluntary and statutory agencies
  • Encouragement of local voluntary action
  • Campaigning for volunteers' rights and providing a voice for volunteer organisations

For businesses we provide:

  • Support to set up Employee Supported Volunteering
