Britain's Heritage Heros

Poltimore

Poltimore House will be featured on the BBC2 programme Britain's Heritage Heros on Wednesday 22 February at 6.30pm, so set your TV recorders and be inspired

Back in September John Craven and Jules Hudson and the team burst onto the Poltimore House scene, to find out all about the huge volunteer efforts going into the project to restore the house and bring back into use for the community of East Devon and Exeter. They met Friends & Trustees, heard about the stucco in the famous Saloon was made and learnt about the contribution Shilhay Community to the development of the Project Centre, created from renovation of the building that housed the 1908 kitchens.

New Volunteer Coffee Morning

Poltimore House, one of Devon's historic estates, is slowly but surely being brought back to life by the efforts of volunteers - and on 17 March 2012 from 11am to 1pm you can visit to meet the people involved and find out what part you could play in this great project.

'Your help is only limited by your (and our) imagination' explains Simon Tootell, Poltimore's Volunteer Co-ordinator.

The coffee morning os for people who might want to volunteer with us. Our open days need guides, stewards, help to serve refreshments, and fundraisers.

There is a real sense of community among Poltimore's volunteers, with many friendships made and skills shared across a wide range of ages, cultures and enthusiasm.

So why not come along for coffee in the Project Centre to meet the people involved and find out what part you could play in this important revival project?

The lecture will last one hour on Sunday 26 February 2012 from 2-4pm in the warm surroundings of the new project centre at Poltimore House, followed by afternoon tea, served with a choice of cake.
